On 10th August, the Suzhou Central Project, jointly developed by Hongkong Land and Yuanrong Development Group, a subsidiary of Sungent Group, had successfully completed the main structure, marking a new stage in the development of the right bank area of Jinji Lake. Benoy provided the master planning and architectural design for the project.
The project is located in the central section of the right bank of Jinji Lake, which is an important commercial node for Suzhou Industrial Park to accelerate the construction of the main area around Jinji Lake. The project covers a total area of 48,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 191,000 square meters and a total investment of about 3.2 billion yuan, positioning it as a landmark-level, high-end complex. Benoy’s design inspiration comes from the “Gusu Prosperity Map,” drawn by Xu Yang, a Chinese painter in the Qing Dynasty. It makes full use of the lake landscape resources of Jinji Lake to build a modern commercial building combining MALL and three-dimensional retail blocks, creating a top luxury consumption destination and leading the upgrading of the surrounding business district.
The Suzhou Central Project integrates the romantic and poetic beauty of Jinji Lake, located in the heart of the world-class waterfront cultural and commercial corridor on the right bank of Jinji Lake, and is linked with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Suzhou Contemporary Art Museum, Suzhou Eye Ferris Wheel, and Right Bank Living Room. Through the introduction of new projects, the urban space is extended to the bank of Jinji Lake, forming an open urban meeting room. This is poised to provide the public with well designed spaces for consumption, luxury accommodation, social interaction, and leisure, and to link with the surrounding commercial carriers to form new characteristics of culture, commerce, and tourism and strive to create a dynamic urban area of “fashion and culture”.
Once again, congratulations to Hongkong Land and Yuanrong Development Group, and the Benoy Shanghai team for adding a finishing touch to the right bank of Jinji Lake!
