Branded Environments

We design how a place is read, navigated and remembered. As wayfinding and place-branding specialists, we make places distinct, simpler to use and open to all.

Capabilities

Our intuitive solutions help people find the shop, reach the gate on time, enjoy the place or exit with ease. We design how a place expresses itself, from the graphics and typography to the signs, totems and structures that carry them. From the scale of a district to the way a scheme reads from the approach road to the lift lobby.

We work with clients to ensure systems can be updated without being replaced. So, when a gallery rotates its exhibitions, or a mixed-use destination sees tenants come and go, costs and waste are kept to a minimum while circulation remains clear. We design for dual functionality where possible, a sign where people pause that is also somewhere to sit. Material follows the same logic: reclaimed, natural and durable, specified for the longest usable life.

Approach

Material details carry identity into the spaces people touch. We pay close attention to the details to make sure our designs are accessible, equitable and actively enhancing people’s experience of a space. In practice this means legible pictograms, braille and embossed text, high-contrast colour, and signage set at a height that works for people seated or standing.

From the wayfinding strategy for an airport terminal to the brand guidelines for a museum, we work across mixed use, residential, retail, hospitality, cultural, and education. 80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined at the concept design stage; it’s our responsibility as designers to reduce that impact. Adopting a ‘less is more’ approach, we use reductive methods to minimise the carbon impact of our work, prioritising reclaimed, natural and durable materials
