A wayfinding identity rooted in the regeneration
Charlemont Square regenerates a formerly derelict site in Dublin, with a mixed-use scheme developed by McGarrell Reilly Group in partnership with Dublin City Council. Bringing together over 280 apartments, Grade A office space, and retail and leisure, centred with a pedestrianised public square and connected directly to the LUAS tram network. The wayfinding system and shopfront guidelines give the district a coherent identity across its public realm.

Design drawn from the name
The square motif that is drawn directly from the development’s name appears consistently across the sign family, establishing an immediate visual language for the district. The underlying grid, also derived from the square, ensures spatial consistency between elements throughout. Bespoke pictograms and directional arrows were designed as extensions of Odudo, the development’s brand typeface, keeping the wayfinding system legible as a unified family rather than a collection of individual signs.
Shopfront guidelines
Alongside the wayfinding commission, Benoy developed shopfront design guidelines to maintain a consistent retail presence at street level, ensuring that as occupiers take up space, the ground-floor character of the development holds together as a whole.
