Benoy project King’s Road, London, wins Gold at WAN Awards

Benoy and its sister landscape architecture business, Uncommon Land, are delighted to have won the Gold Award in the Future-Mixed Use category for the World Architecture News (WAN) Awards for their King’s Road project.

Drawing inspiration from the site’s former use as a botanical nursery, our designs for the King’s Road, London scheme are marked by a seemingly suspended garden box that punctuates a refined fluted brick façade. This glass menagerie, inspired by the 19th century Wardian plant cases and showcasing botanical curiosities, becomes a sustainable beacon for the King’s Road. The concept was a joint initiative led by Benoy and our sister landscape architecture business Uncommon Land. Read more here.

The WAN Judges commented: Benoy showcased a unique design imbibed in its historical context, thanks to a project concept that delivers innovations for sustainability, urbanism and re-use and is a fine example of a future project in this category.’

The project has also been shortlisted for a New London Architecture award, to be announced later this month.

Congratulations to all the team:

Benoy: Jamie Webb, Madeleine Hug, Catarina Cruz, Magdalena Jaslar, Chrysanthi Sini

Uncommon Land: Simon Grimbley, Claudia Pandasi and Cesare Cardia.
