The annual REARD Design Awards and its 5th anniversary celebration was jointly held on 28th November in Shanghai. This year saw 211 Chinese and foreign design companies and developers participate, for a total of 1,136 entries competing across seven main categories.
Two Benoy projects, Hangzhou Canal Culture and Arts Center and Moshida Plaza took home the prestigious Gold Awards. Hangzhou Canal Culture and Arts Center won the Gold Award for the ‘Built – Culture’ Category, while Moshida Plaza won the Gold Award for the ‘Under Construction — City Regeneration’ Category. Moshida Plaza was also included in the 2nd REARD Urban Renewal Design recommendation list, which honors 40 outstanding urban renewal projects from around the world. Tang Wei, Project Director, and Xianbin Ni, Senior Architectural Designer, both from the Shanghai Studio, attended the awards ceremony on behalf of the team and received the awards.
454 outstanding projects were recognized at the ceremony, and nearly 100 industry experts and senior real estate representatives presented the certificates and trophies for these excellent designs. The annual awards pay homage to history and heritage while presenting a vision of the future and sharing leading designs in China to the world. These urban projects demonstrate outstanding design ability reflecting local culture and design thinking, and has become the most anticipated industry event exploring world-class urban renewal design projects both in China and internationally.
