A luxury retail podium with an ETFE canopy

The retail podium design for Plot D targets a luxury shopping experience as its primary positioning, connected to Xujiahui, one of Shanghai’s major sub-centres, via the Inner Ring Road. The defining architectural feature is an innovative ETFE canopy that covers a generous semi-open retail area, providing weather protection while maintaining a sense of openness and natural light. The canopy creates a distinct spatial character for the podium, differentiating the retail experience within the wider Westbund Central development and creating a flexible environment for diverse retail and event programming.
