Challenge
Part of the large-scale Lujiazui Pudong Qiantan masterplan in Plot ES4, this mixed-use project required practical, intelligent design solutions. A strong understanding of connectivity and sustainability was therefore key in order house thousands of professionals and hundreds of businesses.
Solution
Benoy designed two 135m Grade A office towers (80,000 m²) on the east, and a three-storey commercial district (15,000 m²) facing the west. We built a pedestrian bridge and underground passage within the two-storey car parks, and integrated green spaces throughout.
Result
The New Bund World Trade Center is a contemporary and attractive commercial district that complements the expansive metropolis of Shanghai. Central to its design are various roof gardens and balconies for a more enjoyable everyday experience. The convenient multi-level connection provides an improved sense of urban space for individuals, while keeping them moving.
