Challenge

The Suzhou Central project, situated in the Hudong Business District on Jinji Lake within Suzhou Industrial Park, stands as a key development in the city’s most dynamic emerging business hub. With excellent accessibility, including Metro Line 8’s Right Bank Street Station, it anchors the district’s rapid growth and holds strategic significance.

Solution

Blurring the lines between mall and street, the design incorporates terraced commercial streets into the mall’s stepped architecture. Dynamic pathways connect indoor and outdoor spaces across multiple levels, seamlessly integrating the mall with its surroundings. A three-dimensional plaza enhances the landscape, merging lakeside views with the shopping experience to elevate the project’s commercial value. Topping it all, a fan-shaped canopy offers sun and rain protection while underscoring its iconic character.

Recognised by both the client and government, Suzhou Central has achieved remarkable progress, emerging as one of Central’s most efficiently advancing projects in Mainland China. It is currently under active construction. It will be completed onsite in April, 2027.
