Challenge
As part of the RWS 2.0 transformation, the Singapore Oceanarium required a visually striking, brand-aligned entrance that could function as a powerful sense-of-arrival experience — guiding guests into a marine world.
Solution
Benoy designed the Grand Entrance canopy as “The Waves”—a sculptural, nature-inspired form that echoes ocean swells and integrates seamlessly with the main hall’s ribbed arches. Its fluid geometry, layered materials, and vibrant palette draw from the sea, sky, and maritime heritage of Keppel Harbour. Sheltered connectivity, passive shading, and lighting elements enhance both functionality and impact.
Result
The canopy delivers a memorable, Instagrammable gateway to the Oceanarium — blending architecture, brand identity, and immersive storytelling. Operationally independent yet fully integrated into the future masterplan, it creates an iconic arrival point and sets the stage for an engaging marine-life journey.
