Sector

F&B: Restaurant & Bar

Size

1,500 sq.ft.

Challenge

To transform the space of a former, ground-level hotel restaurant with a new identity and specialised dining experience. The mission was to introduce a trendy, casual spot where Spanish, Italian, and French cured meats would be featured as the main attraction.

Solution

To design a destination dining concept set in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Soho hot spot, with a French touch, for diners seeking an animated, upscale experience. The design would lean on strong, imposing features accented with softer, delicate lines and details.

Result

Hambar’s main entrance showcases theatrically lit, suspended cured meats. The back of restaurant is anchored by a full-height, glass enclosed wine cellar and signature charcuterie station. The action centres at the lively, long communal table accentuated by recessed lighting encased in the ceiling above. For a final, fine touch, the suspended chandeliers comprised of clusters of custom-shaped light bulbs wrap the overall experience with glam.
