Challenge

A 1970s retail mall in the city of Windsor, ON, had undergone various redevelopments and expansions over the years. But with the vacancy of the target anchor tenant, an opportunity arose for further modernisation, this time with a strong community focus.

Solution

Looking to deliver more than just another commercial asset, we focused on an assortment of tailored amenities creating a community within a community”. We also introduced a new clerestory and skylights, flooding the interior space with natural light and transforming the customer experience.

Result

Devonshire Mall’s 70 million USD renovation offers convenience-oriented retail, a relocated food court, landscaping and interior uplift. New entrances and an Asian restaurant complete the transformation. The refurbishment reinforces Devonshire Mall as the premier shopping destination for the city, creating a social and consumer hub to meet the needs of locals.
