Benoy project Shenzhen Huaide MixC officially opens to the public
The new Shenzhen Huaide MixC opened its doors on 27 November, marking a key milestone for the 180,000m2 retail landmark designed by Benoy. With over 400 brands under one roof, it’s the largest MixC project in Shenzhen, establishing a vibrant new destination for Bao’an and signaling a major step forward in the larger ‘Ecological + Retail + Lifestyle’ Huaide Super Complex development. Leon Zhang, Project Director at Benoy’s Shanghai Studio, joined the project team onsite to celebrate the occasion.
Located in the heart of Fuyong and connected to Metro Line 12’s Huaide Station, the project brings a true transit-oriented development to Shenzhen, blending commerce and daily life across the Greater Bay Area, adding lasting momentum to the growth of western Shenzhen. With its park-style social retail space, the project is shaped around how people meet, relax and spend time together. Combining the energy of the Greater Bay Area with the calm of Lixin Lake and Cuigang Cultural Park, the development adopts the ‘Have a Hood Life’ concept, articulated through four themes – neighbourhood, community, active living and new experiences.
Benoy implemented a ‘multi-ground-floor’ strategy across two buildings linked by elevated walkways.
• Block A (approx. 120,000m2) acts as a ‘Trend Hub’, bringing together international fashion, youth culture and social leisure.
• Block B (approx. 60,000m2) focuses on ‘Family Gathering’, combining family activities, lifestyle retail, premium homeware and a boutique supermarket.
The two blocks are connected by a 5,000m2 rooftop garden and sky bridges, which form a continuous ‘urban sky park’ public realm and introduce greenery and a sense of elevation within the dense urban context.
As the central element of the Huaide Super Complex, the opening of Shenzhen Huaide MixC signifies the near completion of the wider 600,000m2 Huaide urban renewal development, which includes nine towers nearing 120m in height, integrating hotel, office, residential and serviced apartment uses into a cohesive mixed-use urban district.
Once complete, the complex is expected to become a reference point for urban regeneration – bringing retail, residential, cultural and leisure functions together while creating a meaningful link between the city and the natural landscape.
