Benoy stands out on the WAF stage
We are proud to have taken the stage at World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025, held from November 12 – 14 at the Miami Beach Convention Centre. We presented two landmark projects, 18 Cross and Resorts World Sentosa 2.0 Waterfront Lifestyle Complex, as finalists before a global audience and a jury of industry experts.
Design Director Gregory Kovacs and Project Director Azaria Lee unveiled the design vision and narrative behind the schemes, that were selected as finalists from over 780 international entries.
A closer look at our finalist projects:
18 Cross, Singapore (Completed Buildings — Creative Re-use)
Transformed from a fragmented site, this mixed-use development now stands as a vibrant community hub. The reimagined façade creates a human scale rhythm in harmony with the existing heritage shophouses, breathing new life into the area. By retaining the original structure and strategically retrofitting it, over 23,000 tCO₂ have been saved. This approach, combined with optimised structural design and careful material selection, minimises embodied carbon and resource consumption, leading to a more sustainable, future-ready solution.
Resorts World Sentosa 2.0 Waterfront Lifestyle Complex, Singapore (Future Projects — Leisure-led Development)
Blending masterplanning, architecture, and biophilic design, this ambitious complex is set to re-envision Singapore’s waterfront into a globally renowned luxury lifestyle destination. It aims to become a premium waterfront space that meets the growing demand for high-end experiences while incorporating sustainable design principles. A key highlight is its experiential mountain trail, which fosters a deep connection with nature and embodies the project’s world-class standard, redefining leisure and lifestyle offerings for both locals and tourists.
This recognition at WAF is a testament to the ambition of our clients, the dedication of our partners, and the exceptional talent of our design teams.
The 18th edition of WAF, themed “Hearts & Minds,” gathered the world’s leading architects and designers. Through keynote talks, workshops, live critiques, the event fostered a vital dialogue and served as a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences across the international architectural community.
