Sanya One, a mixed-use development featuring cultural, commercial and tourism elements, has officially opened its doors in the heart of Sanya’s Central Business District. Recognised as a ‘Key Project of Hainan Province’ for four consecutive years, this development is managed by Zhumian Group. Benoy is honoured to have provided comprehensive architectural design consultancy for both the shopping centre and the office tower.
Spanning 168,000m², Sanya One features a 300-meter-long, four-storey podium shopping centre alongside a 120-meter-tall office tower that offers 270-degree ocean vistas. Adjacent to Phoenix Island, a premier coastal area in Sanya, the complex is just 80 meters from the seafront, providing exceptional coastal views. Surrounded by a yacht marina, sailing club, and luxury hotels, its location is remarkably advantageous.
Inspired by Sanya’s coastal environment and ocean waves, the project employs a ‘sailing boat’ theme that integrates the city’s sailing culture into the architecture. The office tower resembles unfurled sails, while the shopping centre’s façade features undulating wave patterns that mimic the dynamic movement of water as a sailboat sets off, resonating with Sanya’s oceanic character.
The commercial component centres on a ‘first-store economy,’ attracting 168 brands including 25 Hainan debuts and 23 Sanya debuts. These offerings span diverse sectors such as boutique retail, signature dining, leisure entertainment, family-oriented activities, and local cultural experiences, providing a wide array of choices for consumers of all ages and significantly enhancing commercial diversity. Furthermore, the development integrates cultural arts, commercial activities, office functions, and coastal tourism, aiming to create a comprehensive space that caters to varied needs.
Sanya Bay presents a visual coastal identity, allowing residents and visitors to experience Sanya’s oceanic charm while shopping, working, or relaxing, and it adds a new landmark to Sanya’s Central Business District.
