Mike Wilson-MacCormack, Executive Director of Architecture at Benoy, joined a panel of distinguished leaders in the design industry at MAPIC India last week to discuss ‘The architecture of experience in modern malls’. The panel had a great conversation around the continuing need for experiential led design to attract and inspire audiences.
Drawing on 20 years leading significant retail projects in India, Mike reflected on how thoughtful design supported by targeted commercial analysis, as provided by our in-house Strategy team, are fundamental to creating retail spaces that engage and delight. Mike discussed the increasing interest in data-led design, where solutions emerge from focusing on customer needs, competitor analysis, and city wide heat mapping to pin-point solutions that resonate with place, culture and create a USP.
The event in general was full of positivity around the potential for growth, consumer demand and thirst for new and exciting concepts.
