Engaging industry leaders at Shanghai Tower
On July 29, Benoy was pleased to participate in the Asia Connect, Shanghai event, part of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series, held on the 75th floor of Shanghai Tower. The forum brought together developers, consultants, investors, architects, and other real estate stakeholders for an afternoon of thought-provoking exchanges and insightful discussions.
Benoy was represented by Yejia Zhu, Project Director and panelist, alongside Emi Wang, Head of Business Development, and Yifan Huang, Senior Marketing Manager.
Spotlight on sustainable urban design
Yejia Zhu was invited to speak on a panel titled “Innovations in Sustainable Development and the Application of Green Technology.” The session explored how sustainability is shaping the evolution of high-density urban developments and commercial precincts.
Yejia shared insights from Benoy’s recent projects, including Nanjing Alibaba Center, Suzhou Central, and Wuhan Joy City, demonstrating how sustainability and green design are deeply embedded in Benoy’s design philosophy.
“In practicing sustainable design for large-scale complex projects in high-density cities, Benoy has gradually developed three core strategies spanning ecology, materials, and operations,” Yejia explained.
“During the scheme design process, we encourage evaluating sustainability, market value, and cost-effectiveness from three dimensions:
• precise selection of technical paths,
• reconstruction of cost calculation logic, and
• creation of visualized selling points.
These strategies enable the quantitative presentation of green investment, where sustainable design becomes the core language of spatial narrative. When that happens, commercial value and aesthetic quality naturally emerge.”
Sustainability as financial strategy
Yejia also noted how adopting rigorous sustainability standards can positively influence a project’s financial outlook by lowering capitalization rates and enhancing appeal to big-name brand tenants.
Looking ahead
Benoy is delighted to have had the opportunity to engage with fellow industry professionals at the event, exchanging insights and sparking meaningful ideas.
We extend our thanks to PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, HLB International, and SUNHOLD Law Offices for co-hosting this impactful exchange.
