Our Hong Kong Studio recently welcomed 23 architecture students and faculty members from Tarumanagara University in Indonesia as part of their ARCHITECTOUR 2025 program. The event, themed around vertical urbanism, provided these future architects valuable insights into real-world architecture through project sharing and interactive discussions with our Benoy teams.
Teri Tsang, Director and Hong Kong Studio Lead, kicked off the day by providing an overview Benoy’s 77-year history as a global design practice. She highlighted key projects and spotlighted an ongoing project in Shenzhen that exemplifies the delicate balance between commercial success and user experience.
Senior Architect Lao Jing Heng shared captivating behind-the-scenes stories from high-rise tower projects in India, walking students through the journey from conception to completion. Architectural Assistants Rose Lin and Lewis Huang further demonstrated how human-centric design can effectively navigate client needs and urban density.
A special highlight came from Alyssa Ng, an Architectural Assistant originally from Indonesia, whose shared her personal journey working at Benoy and living in Hong Kong — offering a perspective that deeply resonated with the students.
The event wrapped up with a lively Q&A session that covered topics such as design challenges, ecological considerations, cultural integration, and innovation — mirroring the real-world experiences of architects.
At Benoy, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of talents in the built environment, ensuring they are well-equipped to face future challenges and inspiring them to build meaningful connections that will support their architectural journeys.
