Grand Shopping Center Changchun
On December 22nd, the Grand Shopping Center in Changchun opened its doors to the public following the completion of Benoy’s latest interior design and commercial planning project.
This new shopping mall marks Benoy’s second collaboration with China Grand Enterprises in creating a large-scale commercial complex, with the first being the successful launch of Grand Shopping Center Chengdu (Plot A & B) in 2021.
A Premier Hub of Leisure and Shopping in the Heart of the Business District
Grand Shopping Center Changchun is strategically located in the southern part of Changchun, at the intersection of Nanhu Middle Street and Huayuan Road.
Encompassing 160,000 square metres in the heart of the business district, the complex is designed to provide a comprehensive range of premium leisure and shopping facilities for local residents. These include restaurants, cinemas, retail stores, supermarkets and entertainment venues.
The complex is thoughtfully divided into four zones, featuring a shopping mall spanning Zones A, B and C, along with an above-ground vertical rotating car park in Zone D.
Innovative Design Harmony: Connecting Zones
A 500-metre circulation seamlessly connects Zone A to C with D. This posed a significant challenge for the design team, prompting them to devise innovative solutions to ensure ample visual appeal.
To cater to diverse visitor preferences, the Benoy team opted for a specific theme for each zone.
Curated Experiences
Zone A features fast-paced retail spaces catering to families; Zone B offers a more relaxed and leisurely shopping experience, while Zone C provides various leisure facilities for younger visitors. The seamless connection of these three zones is facilitated by two walkways that blend with the glass curtain walls, undulating ceiling, and interior design features.
The Benoy team collaborated with China Grand Enterprises to design a series of interactive nature-themed installations. This collaboration aims to create a unique sensory experience, fostering an inviting atmosphere and encouraging more people to visit the complex.
