Congratulations to Naeera Ali, Interior Designer in Benoy’s London studio, who has received a Tamayuoz Excellence Award for her graduate thesis, ‘Integration as a catalyst for change- School for Rohingya Refugee Children.’
The prestigious award celebrates aspirational and transformative design that tackles local and global challenges through a holistic understanding of context. The award is open to architecture, urban design, urban planning, architecture technology and landscape design students worldwide.
Naeera’s design, developed as part of her programme on adaptive reuse program at the Rhode Island School of Design, proposes the conversion of Ruplal House, a neglected and decaying grand nineteenth century mansion in old Dhaka near Rohingya refugee camps, into a center for education and local community integration focused exclusively on Rohingya women and young girls.
