Benoy Triumphs with Multiple Awards at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2022 – 2023

Benoy is delighted to announce that three of our projects have been recognized at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2022 – 2023, one of the most prestigious industry award bodies honoring projects globally with exceptional design across the built environment. Now on their 29th year, the Awards is one of the largest and most widely recognized program both in Asia Pacific and globally, and cover over 45 different residential and commercial categories.

Benoy has garnered three honors in the Awards, receiving recognition for the David Jones Elizabeth Street Flagship Store in Sydney, Australia for the Commercial Renovation/Redevelopment category; the Alibaba Central China Headquarters and Industrial Community in Hubei, China for the Mixed Use Architecture category; as well as for Hanoi Mall in Hanoi, Vietnam for the Mixed Use Architecture category.

Benoy’s winning projects include:

David Jones Elizabeth Street Flagship Store in Sydney, Australia for Commercial Renovation/Redevelopment

David Jones in Sydney’s Hyde Park District is one of Australia’s leading and most iconic department stores. Housed in an elegant, inter-war stripped classical-style building with close to a century of history and heritage, David Jones has been at the forefront of Australia’s immersive and experiential luxury retail environment since 1927. Benoy takes what is unique and exciting about David Jones and the department store at large and rejuvenates this for contemporary patrons, reinventing the“grand old dame of luxury retail” to appeal to the contemporary experience-led consumer, providing it a firm foothold in the 21st century and beyond.

Alibaba Central China Headquarters and Industrial Community in Hubei, China for Mixed Use Architecture

Alibaba’s Central China Headquarters and Industrial Community is located at the core of Wuhan’s inner ring. It covers a total above-ground GFA of roughly 300,000 sqm, with two eco office towers, 280 meters and 190 meters in height respectively, with a total GFA of 210,000 sq m, and a new retail commercial hub covering 90,000 sqm. The development implements Alibaba’s hybrid digital ecosystem and enhances Alibaba’s presence in central China by driving the transformation of its brick-and-mortar businesses. Benoy formulates the Alicampus concept of this project and creates an intelligent industrial cluster to support talent, entrepreneurship, work, and life in Wuhan.

Hanoi Mall in Hanoi, Vietnam for Mixed Use Architecture

The Hanoi Mall mixed-use development consists of two office towers, one hotel tower, one serviced residence tower, and a five-story high retail podium. The design brings a compelling identity and local narrative while creating a distinctive destination within Hanoi to maximize footfall, using the 2nd Ring Road location to forge an iconic landmark. The retail podium closely integrates the inside and outside, generating a smooth transition between both spaces. Benoy’s design thoughtfully accounts for the local climate and culture, allowing the development to maximize day and night environments while responding to the latest retail trends.

Once again, we extend our congratulations to our clients and to the winning Benoy design teams.
