On 27 – 28 November 2021, a virtual awards ceremony for the REARD series of awards was held in a virtual studio at the China Financial Information Centre using broadcast-level virtual broadcasting technology.
Benoy’s four projects collected awards in different categories, namely:
Alibaba Central China Headquarters and Industrial Complex won the “Platinum Award” — Business & Office category • Architectural Planning under Construction category
Alibaba Jiangsu Headquarters, Nanjing, China won the “Gold Award” — Business & Office category • Architectural Planning under Construction category
Chengdu Grand Shopping Centre, Chengdu, China won the “Honor Award” — Business & Office category • Interior Design with Completion category
Sanya CDF Mall II, Hainan, China won the “Silver Award” — Business & Office category • Architectural Planning with Completion category
The winners in 5 project categories and 1 individual category were announced during the two-day virtual awards ceremony, which involved more than 700 winners and guest judges — the highest number of participants since the REARD Award was founded six years ago — and was simultaneously live-streamed on Sina.com. More than 200 representatives of the jury from well-known Chinese real estate developers, academia and the media commended these remarkable award-winning works and sent messages of congratulations from the judges.
In 2021, REARD expanded the scope of its awards. In addition to the original 6th REARD Global Real Estate Design Awards and the 3rd REARD Urban Renewal Design Awards, REARD continues to penetrate into more fields such as urban design, real estate design, public space and art design. This year’s Awards attracted record interest, with a total of 1,561 entries submitted by 464 design agencies and developers, and a total of 31 Platinum Awards presented in the various categories.
