Benoy project Nottingham University Biodiscovery Institute shortlisted for Sustainable Development of the Year’

Benoy project Nottingham University Biodiscovery Institute has been shortlisted for Sustainable Development of the Year’ & Construction Project of the Year’ at the East Midlands Property Awards 2020. 

The scheme, for which Benoy was Architect and Lead Designer/​Consultant, is an extension and complementary new facility for the university’s Centre for Biomolecular Sciences existing departmental buildings.

Made up of a series of flexible lab and office spaces, the CBSE brings the various medical research groups together into a concentrated working space. The new lab boasts over 6,500 sqm floorspace over five storeys, with laboratory, office, collaborative working space, admin support and associated rooftop plant areas. It is now a world-leading hub of interdisciplinary research excellence shaping the future of health and biotechnology.

The nomination follows the project winning Commercial Development of the Year at the 2020 East Midlands Business Link BRICKS Awards.
