Benoy’s Huafa projects scoop up multiple awards

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards is one of the region’s largest and most respected real estate awards programmes. We’re delighted that two projects which Benoy collaborated on, the Jinwan Huafa Mall and the Wuhan Huafa City Hub, scooped up big wins at the 2019 Awards last week.

The Jinwan Mall was awarded Best Retail Development” in the Asia region and Best Retail Development” in the China Greater Bay Area. The Wuhan City Hub was awarded Best Mixed Used Development” in Mainland China. We congratulate developer Huafa on their tremendous achievement. We also applaud Stephen Chow and Gregory Kovacs, Benoy Directors, and their talented teams who collaborated on the Jinwan and Wuhan projects respectively.

Wuhan Huafa City Hub

This mixed-use retail project is located in the Central Business District of Wuhan. It’s a fascinating project because Benoy were asked to re-envisage and redo an existing façade design that had been done by another firm, and create something better while maintaining the original structure. In this way the project was sustainable, since Benoy didn’t demolish the original structure to accommodate the new design. Benoy conceptualized a façade system that can integrate a rich variety of shopfronts, advertisements, signages, bridges, balconies, and greenery. We created a consistent language across the development that is able to adapt to the changing requirements and the varying scales of the buildings, while providing richness, variety and points of focus and interest.

Jinwan Huafa Mall

This project is located in the core area of Zhuhai’s new Aviation City and is also a prime location adjacent to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Benoy designed a trendy (“affordable luxury”) shopping mall, to maximise the retail opportunity provided by the new aviation city. As the surrounding plots mainly consist of commercial offices, residential, sports and cultural facilities, the project also includes a spectacular panoramic lake side view, and a civic cultural centre across the lake. The project is targeted to appeal to young families working and living around the aviation city.
