Singapore’s Changi T4 Opens for Operations

Benoy’s project, Changi Airport Terminal 4 (T4) has opened for operations. As Concept Design Architect and Interior and Wayfinding Designer of T4, Benoy has been anticipating the opening of the 225,000 m² terminal as a new way to experience air travel.

Cathay Pacific and Korean Air began operations at T4 on 31 October. Cathay Pacific flight CX659 from Hong Kong was the first flight to arrive at the new terminal at 5:40 a.m. Its passengers were warmly welcomed with orchids, from which its symmetrical petal motif is applied throughout the terminal. Passengers on the first departing flight were also treated to local delights and activities at the boarding gate area. In addition to Cathay Pacific and Korean Air, seven more airlines will begin operations at T4 in the next week. The new airport is expected to accommodate up to 16 million passengers per year.

The shops and restaurants at T4 were also ready to welcome passengers. The integrated duty-free retail design features double-height facades, art displays and immersive LED walls.
