Constructed in 1939, TSUM, the iconic luxury department store in Kiev has been reimagined internally and externally by Benoy.
As Kiev’s most historically significant department store, the design has respected the identity of the building while modernising and reconfiguring the store’s interior spaces to suit the contemporary retail landscape.
As such, there has been a full restoration of the existing 1938 and 1956 Art Deco façades, preserving these characteristics for future generations. Internally, the complementary transformation sees a vibrant 21st century retail and dining environment.
At the very top of the building, the glazed clerestory houses restaurants and the rooftop terrace provide views not only over the famous Khreshchatyk Street below but across the whole city.
Both a culturally and historically significant project, the transformed TSUM has reaffirmed its place as a go-to retail destination in the heart of the Kiev.
