At the heart of Shanghai’s historic Expo district, the client envisioned a transformative development that would complete the area’s urban regeneration while honouring its World Expo legacy. The challenge was to reimagine Plot B06 as a vibrant mixed-use hub that could unify commercial, cultural, and community ambitions in one landmark destination.

解决方案

Benoy’s response was rooted in balance — blending industrial heritage with refined modernity. Drawing inspiration from the site’s past as a steel plant, we crafted interiors defined by structural clarity, rich materiality, and rhythmic spatial flow. From large-scale office towers to curated retail and lifestyle spaces, the design celebrates slow living in a fast-paced world through the philosophy of “urban rhythm within a frame.”

Expo Place now stands as the final puzzle piece of the district — a multidimensional destination that connects culture, commerce, and community. With LEED-certified towers, immersive interiors, and a powerful sense of place, it marks a new chapter in Shanghai’s post-Expo evolution and reaffirms the city’s role on the global stage.
