A science park headquarters at the intersection of Shanghai’s innovation districts
The Yuqiao Science Park Head Office is a mixed-use complex in outer Pudong, Shanghai, designed for Shanghai Lujiazui Group. The 41,000m2 site holds four Grade-A office buildings, an AI Academy, commercial showrooms and a network of public spaces across 181,000m² of floor area. The site sits at a convergence point in Shanghai’s innovation centre and the International Tourist Resort to the southeast via Metro Line 11. The masterplan centres on a ‘green river’, an elevated linear landscape linking the public spaces, office buildings, AI Academy and commercial showroom into a continuous three-dimensional route above ground level. Two sunken plazas provide sheltered ground-level public space, with a first-floor bridge connecting the buildings and the green river route into multi-level pedestrian movement.

Four towers, two courtyards
The office buildings are paired. Towers 1 and 2, adjacent to Yuqiao Road and the Metro line, step back from the plot edge with commercial showrooms on the lower two floors. Towers 3 and 4 form an enclosed L-shape around an inner courtyard, with a five-storey sky lobby at the sixth floor for product launches, exhibitions and large-format events.
Façade and sustainability
The façade draws from AI programming code: louvres set at three angles (0°, 45°, 90°) provide shade while maximising transparency at eye level. The AI Academy’s façade references Morse code through perforated aluminium panels with variable transparency. The project holds LEED Gold certification and a two-star green building designation.
