Wuxi MixC West Zone Opens on Lihu Lake

The new waterside scheme completes Jiangsu Province’s largest MixC development, drawing on the surrounding cultural landscape of Wuxi.

Officially opened on 26 June 2026, the Wuxi MixC West Zone completes the largest MixC development in Jiangsu Province. Together with the existing East Zone, the scheme spans 336,000m², combining an enclosed shopping centre with an open-air waterfront retail destination overlooking Lihu Lake.

Responsible for the West Zone interiors, Benoy draw on three aspects of Wuxi’s cultural landscape for inspiration: the waterfront character of Lihu Lake, the spatial composition of traditional Jiangnan gardens, and the theatrical sequencing of public space. Reflecting the city’s regional heritage, the design unfolds as a series of interconnected spaces. The interior palette inspired by the warm brown tones of Wuxi’s Zisha purple clay, layered with pure white, reddish brown and dark grey, evokes the understated elegance of Jiangnan.

Organised around six themed precincts spanning fashion, lifestyle, dining, entertainment and wellness, The West Zone brings together more than 200 brands of varying scale, with over 60% making their debut in the market. At its centre, Lucky Waterfront, a large-scale public art installation by Australian artist Brolga, is presented in China for the first time, coinciding with the launch of the An’an Art Season programme.

Designed to complement the East Zone rather than compete with it, the West Zone introduces more trend-led entertainment alongside the East Zone’s luxury retail experience. Together, the two create a diverse waterfront destination that extends Wuxi’s evening economy, encourages longer visits, and establishes a new chapter for the city’s commercial and cultural life.
