Terence Seah engages aspiring architects at Haligi 8 Lecture Series in Manila, Philippines

Terence Seah, Benoy Director and Head of Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shenzhen, had the honour of speaking at the HALIGI 8 Lecture Series, organised by the National University College of Architecture in Manila, Philippines. 

Held on September 4, 2024, at Aliw Theater in Pasay City, Metro Manila, the event attracted over 750 attendees, including industry professionals and aspiring architects.

His presentation, entitled Psychology of Experiential Architecture: How Design Influences Shopper Behaviour,” explored how multisensory integration in architecture enhances human-built environment interaction and delivers commercial value. 

Terence showcased Benoy’s innovative studio culture and iconic projects, demonstrating the future of retail design through personalized and immersive shopping experiences.

He also addressed evolving customer preferences and shifting retail trends, emphasizing architectural strategies that foster engagement, discovery, and community. 

Pertinent case studies from Benoy’s portfolio — including the SM Megamall redevelopment in Manila, Shibuya PARCO in Tokyo, and INCITY MEGA in Wenzhou — highlighted how experiential architecture transforms the retail landscape, delivering both commercial and social value.
