Benoy Attends Build4Asia 2022: ESG Asia Forum

ESG is often tied to how businesses use their buildings and spaces can make a positive impact on the communities and the environment. In addition to ESG benefits, what exactly defines a future-proof climate-ready building?

Held on November 2022 in Hong Kong, Benoy attended and spoke at Build4Asia 2022: ESG Asia Forum, on the role of sustainable approaches in architecture.

Build4Asia: ESG Asia Forum is Asia’s innovative technology showcase. The conference gathered Finance, Sustainability and Governance experts to explore investor expectations and new practices that stand out in the new era of ESG reporting.

Speaking at the session Structures of Reincarnation’, Gregory Kovacs, Design Director at Benoy, shared some of Benoy’s latest repositioning projects worldwide, using these projects as the basis for a vivid analysis from an architect’s perspective.

Gregory commented, We are great believers in repositioning — as the most sustainable approach to architecture: build less, reuse more. Rather than simply replacing old structures to make place for new, it is no longer challenging to imagine a future where we can unlock new value in outdated buildings through alterations. Over the past years, Benoy has made sustainability its core focus, taking on more and more repositioning projects. But never at this scale.

Benoy leadership team attended the event, represented by Gregory Kovacs, Teri Tsang, Kali Chan, Gracinda Mou, Gerald Chu and Frederick Fung. Together with clients and delegates, the team explored how developers can sustainably develop the cities and environments to help tackle challenges facing climate change.
