Benoy and Ceramiche Piemme’s Glitch’ tile range launches at Cersaie expo

Glitch’, Benoy’s tile collaboration with global tiling specialists Ceramiche Piemme, this week launched at the Cersaie expo in Italy.

Glitch was introduced on stage during Ceramiche Piemme’s conference on Sunday at Cersaie, which is the world’s premier tiling and surfaces trade show.

The Glitch range celebrates imperfection and material individuality and is inspired by the flickering produced on a computer screen by an unpredicted error. The collection is expressed in 8 colours in various sizes, with the distinctive irregularities of concrete surfaces, such as cracks, films, scratches and wear, reinterpreted for ceramic tiles. The result is a contemporary collection suited for the home as well as commercial developments.

Benoy Design Director Andy Piepenstock said: We wanted to come up with wall tiles focusing on the distinctive irregularities of concrete surfaces, such as cracks, films, scratches and wear, and reinterpret them for ceramic. The idea of Glitch is based on a paradox: instead of providing a digital reproduction of the flaws of nature, this collection gives tangible form to the flaws and errors of the digital world.”
