Celebrating the women of Benoy — International Women’s Day 2018

Today, Benoy is joining millions of businesses globally in the celebration of International Women’s Day.

In each of its seven studios around the world, women have been a progressive force and they continue to drive the business forward. At Benoy’s senior leadership level, 37% of these positions are held by women. Across its global studios, women account for 45% of total staff. Its sister business, Holmes Wood, the award-winning graphic design firm, was founded by the talented and ambitious Alexandra Wood and Lucy Holmes. Today, 75% of their Board and 52% of their staff are female.

Commenting on this unique day, Tom Cartledge, CEO said: I’m privileged to have the opportunity to celebrate the women that continue to drive Benoy forward in its 71st year of designing. This is an industry that has been noted for its male dominance; however, there is no denying the impact of the many incredibly talented women who occupy this space. Benoy would not be the leading design business it is today without the leadership, creativity and ingenuity of many women.

I believe that as a company, we have really demonstrated progress. Nearly half our workforce is women but we’re not complacent. We will strive to maintain this balance and wherever appropriate, appoint more women to senior positions. At each level of Benoy, it is my sincere belief that there is equal opportunity for people to grow, succeed and reach their individual goals. Our business would not be what it is without this. There’s no doubt that we will keep improving, building on these strong foundations to progress Benoy, and the wider industry, towards an equal future.”
