A new city centre masterplan was required for Manchester, following IRA bomb damage.

Benoy was one of the prime movers in the design consortium which won the international design competition.

Proposals allowed the centre to grow naturally providing business, cultural, housing and leisure opportunities as well as a new transport infrastructure concept.
