The Graham Cartledge Pavilion at De Montfort University
This week saw the unveiling of the Graham Cartledge Pavilion, an experimental performance space designed by students from the Architecture Degree course at De Montfort University which has been built on campus in Leicester.
The pavilion, which will stay in place for a year, was made from a lattice of timber and is designed with sliding panels so that the performance space can be transformed during the play.
As an Alumnus of the University, Graham Cartledge CBE has worked closely with the institution to deliver guest lectures and assist in the development of the Leicester School of Architecture. His support has enabled this unique project as part of the five-year ‘Graham Cartledge Visiting Chair in Architectural Design’.
Graham said: “I am delighted to be able to support the next generation of ‘Creatives’. The UK has some of the world’s most influential artistic talent and it is an honour to be able to inspire, encourage and develop these future leaders of design’.
