Benoy is delighted to announce that Prado has been recognised at the 2017 MAPIC Awards.
Presented at a gala event in Cannes, France on 16 November, Benoy's latest retail project in France, Prado was awarded the title ‘Best Futura Shopping Centre’ for 2017 in front of a crowd of over 300 industry professionals.
Robert Bishop, Head of Europe Studio collected the award and commented, "We are delighted to receive the ‘Best Futura Shopping Centre’ Award for Prado at MAPIC 2017. Prado, located in Marseille’s 8th arrondissement, will provide both the local community and visitors with a new shopping experience that is designed to integrate the adjacent city streets into a “Grand Hall”, around which the retail is planned over 4 levels. This central volume is tiered with terraces and crowned with a restaurant deck, again modern in its translation of the standard shopping centre, with an open gridshell Roofscape affording protection and open views across the city. The materiality of the project is external with qualitative stone floors and facades, again reinforcing the ‘inside – outside’ philosophy of the design."
