MAPIC Award Win for Jewel Changi Airport

23 November 2016

Benoy is honoured to announce that Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel) in Singapore has been recognised at the 21st MAPIC Awards this year.

Presented at a gala event in Cannes, France on 17 November, Jewel was awarded the title ‘Best Futura Shopping Centre’ for 2016 in front of a crowd of over 300 industry professionals.

The award honours outstanding future developments which display originality in their concepts and integration with the local environment and local community. This year’s esteemed panel of judges was chaired by Tom Meager, Group Director of Property at Primark.

Jewel is set to be an exciting new attraction for Singapore’s Changi Airport once it opens in early 2019. As part of the airport’s strategy to enhance its position as one of the best airports in the world, Jewel is an offering like none other. Beneath its distinctive dome-shaped silhouette, the development will be the first structure in the city to seamlessly integrate an environment of indoor gardens amidst airport facilities as well as retail, dining and leisure. The complex will have five storeys above ground and five below, occupying a total GFA of 134,000m2.

Benoy is the Interior Designer and Retail and Aviation Facilities Planner behind the project, working alongside the consortium of designers which is led by Safdie Architects and includes RSP Architects Planners and Engineers.
