Benoy is honoured to announce that Chengdu IFS has won the overall 2016 VIVA (Vision, Innovation, Value, Achievement) Best-of-the-Best Design and Development Award. The award was announced by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at the global awards ceremony on 22 May in Las Vegas.
Honouring outstanding examples of shopping centre design, the ICSC VIVA Awards bring together the Gold Winners from each of the regional competitions to compete for the international title. Chengdu IFS previously won the top Gold Award for New Design and Development at the ICSC Asia Pacific Awards in 2015.
Benoy’s Director Ferdinand Cheung who led the design for Chengdu IFS was at the event to collect the award alongside Christina Hau, General Manager (Operations) at Wharf China Estates Limited. Chengdu IFS’ award marks the third global win for Benoy at the ICSC VIVA Awards, following Hysan Place, Hong Kong in 2014 and Parc 66, Jinan in 2013.
“It is a great honour to be once again recognised on a global platform by the ICSC. On behalf of Benoy and the entire Chengdu IFS Design Team, we would like to thank the ICSC for recognising the quality of design behind this development. We would also like to thank Wharf for their collaboration and commitment to this project and in delivering a world-class landmark for Chengdu,” said Ferdinand Cheung.
Chengdu IFS is Benoy’s landmark development in western China. Conceived as a ‘City within a city’, the 760,000m2 integrated development is a world-class, one-stop destination uniting Retail, Dining, Business, Leisure, Entertainment, Culture and Art.
