Benoy is honoured to announce that Suzhou Center has been recognised at the 2016 Asia Pacific Property Awards hosted in Kuala Lumpur on 8 April
Suzhou Center took home a Highly Commended Award for Retail Architecture in China. This is the third consecutive year that Benoy-designed schemes have been awarded in the Asia Pacific programme.
Suzhou Center is a large-scale, high-end integrated development in the heart of the western Central Business District of Suzhou Industrial Park. Planned on a 16ha site along the banks of Jinji Lake, the scheme comprises Retail, Commercial, Residential and a Hotel as well as entertainment and cultural spaces.
With one of the world’s largest free-form monocoque roof structures, spanning over 36,000m² above the retail component, Suzhou Center is a highly anticipated future development for the city.
The retail and entertainment podium will have a GFA of 340,000m² spread over seven levels. Alongside luxury and high-street retailers, designer studios, children’s attractions and a gourmet supermarket, there will also be an IMAX Cineplex and an Olympic-size ice rink.
Benoy’s design has celebrated the natural surroundings of Jinji Lake with landscaped terraces and bridges overlooking the scenery. Water is a prominent motif in both the Architecture and Interior Design.
The Asia Pacific Property Awards are the regional counterpart of the International Property Awards and celebrate the highest achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.
