Benoy, the international award-winning firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Interior and Graphic Designers, has announced the opening of its latest Middle East project, City Centre Me’aisem, in Dubai.
Opening last week, the new 23,000m2 shopping centre includes 60 retail and leisure tenants in addition to a well-rounded food and beverage element serving local residents and professionals working nearby.
“Our vision for this development incorporated traditional Middle Eastern architectural influences with a subtle colour palette recalling the rich hues of the desert landscape,” said Jacqueline Beckingham, Benoy Director and the project’s leader.
She added, “We brought infiltered, natural light through clerestory screens, creating a cool, comfortable shopping environment for everyone who visits.”
The generous walkways and tall storefronts entertain a relaxed atmosphere for leisurely meandering through the retail offer.
Benoy Director and Head of MENA Studios Paul Priest said, “The delivery of the City Centre Me’aisem project represents the success of a new concept of smaller scale retail, F&B and lifestyle destinations; filling a void in the regional offer.”
“We were thrilled to work with alongside MAF Properties on this development. It is a great addition to the MENA region and to our portfolio of delivered work of which we are immensely proud.”
This opening represents Phase 1 of the overall masterplan development which is set within a 93,000m2 masterplan allowing for future expansion.
