Benoy, the international Architecture, Masterplanning, Interior and Graphic Design firm, is thrilled to announce its appointment as Lead Design Consultant on the Bahrain Marina Development Project located in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Benoy’s role is to design and deliver the entire masterplan.
In January, the firm completed the Concept Masterplan for this luxury scheme which will reinvent the current marina with the introduction of a 150,000m2 mixed-use design and the prestigious Bahrain Marina Yacht Club.
State-of-the-art facilities across several sectors, comprising Residential, Entertainment, Leisure and Hospitality, will complement and further develop this busy capital city. With a 5-Star hotel, serviced apartments, extensive retail offer, a cinema and wide variety of food and beverage options, the Benoy Masterplan will create a landmark community anchored by the Bahrain Marina Yacht Club.
Subtle aspects of the design such as the wide promenade will encourage visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the retail area as they admire the beautiful water features. The more prominent amenities will combine to create a new lifestyle destination which will completely transform the current waterside area of Manama into a premier destination with a reputation that will reach far beyond the Gulf Coast region.
Working closely with the client Amlak, the real estate investment arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bahrain’s Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), along with the internationally acclaimed Project and Cost Management firm Bruce Shaw; Benoy will be responsible for the entire development of the Project.
Commenting on the development, Mr Mohamed Alkooheji, Acting-Chief Executive Officer, from Amlak stated, “This Masterplan not only meets our brief of driving further investment into the Kingdom, but Benoy’s design brings a world-class development that all residents and visitors can thoroughly enjoy. We are very keen to position the Bahrain Marina as a world-class facility and a National Landmark.”
Paul Priest, Benoy Director and Head of MENA Studios, said that “the Bahrain Marina Masterplan has been inspired by the stunning environment of the region. Blending this inherent natural beauty with the tangible energy of the capital city, we are looking forward to delivering a new icon for Bahrain and beyond.”
“The Benoy Team prides itself in pushing the boundaries of architectural design and strives to create destinations with a unique sense of place, purpose and personality. Taking concepts to reality, we aim to realise the vision and exceed all expectations. The Bahrain Marina Masterplan has given us the opportunity to deliver a truly mixed-used environment that we believe will raise international standards.”
Bruce Shaw Project Director Brian Coppinger added that “we are looking forward to working with Benoy to help deliver this landmark project for Amlak and indeed Bahrain.”
Paul concluded, “With the support of Amlak, we are confident that this development will soon become a top destination for Bahrain and an exciting addition to Benoy’s global portfolio.”
Completion of the Masterplan is expected by the end of 2019.
