Benoy Announces Global Studio Expansion

Benoy, the international, award-winning firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Interior and Graphic Designers, is excited to announce that three of its nine global studios, London, Singapore and Dubai, are on the move. All three hubs are experiencing real growth in their respective regions and their relocation to bigger and more prestigious premises will accommodate this expansion. Benoy’s growing international team has increased 20% over the last two years and consequently the company is celebrating almost 600 colleagues around the world.

After 20 years based in Holborn, Benoy London will be taking up residence at One Monkwell Square, adjacent to the famous London Wall. Home to the Worshipful Company of Barbers, the site of the historic standalone building dates back to the 1440s, and Benoy’s new studio space will be fully redesigned by its acclaimed Interior Design Team. The concept will embody Benoy’s trademark as a creative British Brand.

In the UAE, Benoy will be making a strategic move to Dubai, relocating its Abu Dhabi studio. Dubai represents an inspiring platform for the firm. Two recently opened schemes, The Beach and Citywalk, have already been heralded for their innovation and contribution to architecture and the public realm in the region and beyond.

Following the appointment to high-profile projects including the future Terminal 4 and Project Jewel at Changi Airport, Benoy Singapore has more than doubled its team in the past 15 months. The studio will relocate to a larger space in Twenty Anson, a sustainable Green Mark Platinum Grade-A office building in the heart of Asia’s Garden City.

Remaining in its Quarry Bay headquarters, Benoy Hong Kong continues to drive, manage and support the growth of studios across the region, helping oversee 280 live projects in over 60 cities throughout Asia.

Celebrating the Next Generation

As Benoy continues to expand into new markets, sectors and services, it has reviewed its Global Structure and consequently established an even more secure business platform that will encourage and ensure enhanced communication and increased transparency between its nine vibrant design studios.

Chairman Graham Cartledge CBE leads a newly formed Holding Board which includes both Executive and Non-Executive members. Former Managing Director Nick Lamb takes on the role of Vice Chairman of the ‘One Benoy’ Global Board and has been joined by Global Directors Tom Cartledge and Peter McCaffery and Global Finance Director Carolyn Pears. This Board has a responsibility and indeed a real determination to develop the ‘Next Generation’ at Benoy.

Aligned with the company’s ongoing expansion and future aspirations, the Global Board is pleased to announce the appointment of a number of new Directors across the UK, MENA Region and Asia.

Benoy’s philosophy has always been to promote from within. Experiencing continued, and even accelerated, success has prompted Benoy to announce the next generation of talent, creativity, energy and fresh thinking.

Under the stewardship of the Global Directors, Benoy is delighted to welcome to its directorship: Omid Ferdowsian – Beijing; Paul Priest – Dubai; Alan Wan, Andy Lai, Brady Siu, Chao Wu, Craig Menzies, Ferdinand Cheung, Stephen Chow and Winnie Tsang – Hong Kong; and Adam Blacker – London.

These new Directors – all proven in terms of design, build and leadership – bring with them a new era of experience and expertise.

Benoy operates a ‘One World’ strategy and its network of nine studios promotes a single brand identity and delivers a consistently high level of design and client service around the world. The culture is however open and encourages ideas, imagination and entrepreneurialism.
