Benoy, the international firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Interior and Graphic Designers, is delighted to announce the opening of Galerie Teplice, a 22,000m² new retail centre in the heart of the spa town of Teplice, Czech Republic, forming one side of the town’s central square.
The design includes three trading levels, which due to the natural terrain are three ground floors of shopping, and the city’s first multiplex cinema, a casino and a large food store. The extensive new centre will encourage more people to visit to Teplice and help the revival of the spa town.
Benoy is responsible for the Concept Design of both the interior and exterior architecture. The architectural language and motif are sensitive to the historic placement of the project.
Benoy Director Robert Bishop, Head of Europe, who led the project design, said “Benoy is delighted with the elevational composition which we believe is appropriate as well as respectful of the historic setting. It is always a challenge to integrate a large commercial project into such an environment, and we are confident that the varied materials, articulation and forms have a ‘quiet’ and sensitive footprint within the fabric of Teplice. Internally, we see the mall working well as a lively and attractive marketplace for both international and local brands.”
“We are extremely pleased with the success of both Teplice and the opening of Galleria Šantovka last year as milestones in our CEE portfolio; Benoy looks forward to continuing this positive collaboration with our client Dandreet and are currently working on further projects for this significant investor in the region”, Bishop concluded.
